Our Story
Hello! The founders of Honest Sea Moss.
While trying to live a healthier and simpler life, we came across Irish Sea Moss and found it to be an amazing addition to our diet since there are so many benefits. The problem was that not only was it really expensive ($45 for 8 day’s worth of sea moss gel) but you could never verify the quality of a brand’s sea moss.
This was a huge issue for us since there was a lot of pool grown sea moss on the market and very little oversight due to under regulation.
We set out to find suppliers that could verify the quality and sustainability of their product, first for our own consumption, and now as a brand.
Transparency, quality, and accessibility are our top priority:
- With so many gimmicky "health foods" out there nowadays, we aim to inform our consumer so that you may make an educated decision regarding the addition of Sea Moss to your diet.
- Our product is Organic Certified and lab-tested for nutritional content and heavy metal analysis to ensure top quality. We believe its our duty to be transparent with the consumer by providing our certifications and lab tests so that you always know what you are paying for.

About Sea Moss
We do not believe you have to take an array of supplements to meet your nutrient needs when the live foods around us are more than enough. We are firm believers that organic, wildcrafted Sea Moss is one of the best sources of nutrients and minerals to meet your baseline nutritional needs.
Authentic Irish Sea Moss has been growing off the coast of Ireland for centuries and was used as a source of sustenance during the Irish Potato Famine of the 1840's, which in part contributed to it falling out of favor as a "poverty food" stereotype. Fast forward to modern-day, and Sea Moss has quietly received recognition as one of the most complete "Superfoods" in the world, containing up to 92 of the 102 minerals the body needs.
While we recommend a balanced diet full of whole, unprocessed foods, taking Sea Moss can be a simple way to insure your baseline mineral needs are met everyday.
